thankful

I am so thankful for my college group. Tonight instead of our usual Bible study, we ended having a time of praise and prayer and intercessing for others needs. It was encouraging - esp. since I was stressed earlier today about finances and such. I am learning much about faith - I don't have as much as I need but I am thankful that God is faithful despite my lack of it! He is so good - brings the right words of encouragement and people at just the right time! Praise God!

success in little ways

Amidst moments of vegging today I was very pleased with the progress I have made this weekend. I finished my scrapbook this evening - now I can get back on the big one that I need to finish. It would be cool if I could finish that before I go back to Germany. I got lots of cleaning done this weekend too which is good. It is so much easier to do things when one has a clean room. :) Praise God. Oh and my car is now ready to go to Indiana - hurrah!

Praise God for the rain that we might have pretty flowers. Never forget to thank God for the little things - it will make your day much brighter!

a new day

Twas my first day back at work today and it actually went pretty well despite having a wrapped ankle. I hurt my ankle while leaving my uncle's house Sunday after having Easter Dinner there. That's the problem with flip flops - they can be hazardous to one's health. Praise the Lord I can walk on it and it looks like it is improving.

I was able to get various errands done during and after work - including actually fixing my w-4 form which caused me problems this year on my taxes (it was a bit discouraging - but the Lord is helping me). College group was encouraging tonight - I always feel uplifted when I go there. It was so good to connect with friends and be reminded that even when friends/acquaintances disappoint us, it is best to turn it all over to God. It was so good to worship and praise the Lord together with everyone.

One thing that was fun tonight is I met a woman from Belgium - a place I have actually been before. It was fun to chat with her a little about where she comes from. I look forward to getting to know her better. Praise God for the different people he brings into my life!

Tomorrow should be a normal day which is good - one can't take too much chaos or excitement. Thanks to those who have been praying for me - I am praying for you!

God Bless until another day!

back home

I'm now back home from a very pleasant visit to Indiana - where I got to fly a kite, grill burgers under an umbrella and eat at an Italian Restaurant. It was very fun to just hang w/ Jon when he finally finished his paper~hurray for that! We even became an "official" Grace couple b/c we went to Walmart and walked to the Lake - thanks to Patricks observations lol. Such fun. It was sad to come home but it is nice to know that I will see him again very soon for his graduation! Praise God. I was able to get some things finished today though - even got some new glasses. I sent in my dreaded tax forms - the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away I suppose!

Speaking of the Lord giveth - let us not forget the joy of his ultimate gift of salvation this weekend. Thank you Abba for having Jesus come down and die for our sins so that we might live and on the 3rd day rising again, showing once and for all that you are God! You are amazing and I love you!! Happy Resurrection Day Everyone!!

Surprises are fun!

Hello from Winona Lake, Indiana! Yes you heard correctly. I am here on a beautiful day in the library hanging out while Jon finishes his paper (it gets handed in today - hurray). The funny thing about this visit is he had no idea that I was coming! I just so happened to be in the kitchen when he came home for dinner on Tuesday. It was fun to come and visit - I am enjoying seeing Jon in normalcy - something that doesn't happen often - or shall I say ever. Tis what happens when one is in a long distance relationship. Surprises like this are one of the perks though. I praise God for safe travels and a willing friend to help bring me where I needed to be. It is so nice to relax after being stressed out on Monday because of taxes - which I found out I owed instead of getting anything back - I was quite upset. It is just another reminder that I need to trust God since I am nothing in my own strength! I am looking forward to a couple more good days before I go home Saturday - but what is nice is that I will be back in 2 weeks for graduation! Very fun indeed!! Praise God for He is a faithful God who knows all! May we always rejoice even when things don't go the way we want them too! Have a great day - may it be filled with sunshine!

testing pictures and random thoughts of the day

Happy times - I'm playing with the picture thing on this to see if maybe I want to make this my official Germany blog. Hmmm - I think it might work - we shall see.

I am still a sleepy girl - been busy on this rainy day getting new glasses and eating too much at a baby dedication. It was a nice service though. I need to go work on my lesson for tomorrow though. It should go well I think. I will do the Easter story since we won't have Sunday School on Easter Sunday. I have some fun empty eggs to use. :)

I found out sad news of a friend's family member's death today. I am praying for you my dear Potter family. May God be your peace in this time of sadness. I wish I could give each and everyone of you a hug of comfort and encouragement. Since I'm not nearby you can pretend that I hugged you! :) God bless you all.

Well, time to go get some work done! Have a great evening! Let me know if you can see the picture! :)

ups and downs and all arounds

I am so tired right now - of course being up late every night probably hasn't helped any! It has been an up and down day today. It was fun having a party day at school and my kid was pretty good for me. Then after leaving with a high I went to Starbucks and found out I don't have that job anymore because I won't be around long enough. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed since I was hoping to have the extra money to save up for future trips and such. Sigh. This was all tempered when I reached home and got some much needed mail. God certainly know what he is doing that is for sure. I'm not sure if I will look for another job or if I should try to save what I have right now and make a good budget for it. So much to think about. Abba help me. It was fun celebrating my sisters birthday tonight with family - what was so good though was going to my favorite little coffee shop and spending time with a dearly loved friend who challenges and encourages me. It was fun meeting a little fourth grader who liked to chat too. Yay for monkey-girl. :) All in all the day has been good - full of many emotions, yet that is what it means to be human isn't it? We are not robots but people with feelings. Thank you God for that!

the sway of the beach

It is days like today that make me very thankful that I live so near a beach. It is a place that soothes my soul from all of its unsettledness and confusion. It is a place where I can pray, think and be reminded of the beauty of grace. It is a place where I am truly reminded of God's majesty and power. Ascribe to the Lord oh mighty ones, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! (Ps. 29:1). All my concerns are small next to the ever moving sea. Thank you Lord for the sweet peace that you give. Thank you. Thank you that you are in control of life - even amidst it's great uncertainty - at least on this end. We have a great God and he is good!

The Right Stuff - oh oh oooh oh

So, I've realized I've begun each post with the work "So" way too many times. I need to change that! Silly me! I'm doing well - it is the end of a busy week - and I finally finished my support letters - hurray! I can send them out tomorrow and they will be on there way! I'm thankful for good friends who helped me stuff and fold at the end at my favorite spot Caffe Portofino (where it was opera night!). I tried a Caramel/Almond Latte which I need to name one of these days - it tasted pretty go0d. The title is from a New Kids on the Block song that my girls and I reminisced about tonight. That tune is stuck in my head! :) I am ready for a nice rest. I head to Jersey tomorrow for a road trip planning thing w/ my bestest girlfriend/sisterchick. I am so looking forward to driving to Indy w/ her. It is going to be fun - I just know it! Well, I should hit the hay - I'll ramble on another time about other things! Tchuss!
